The commander of the Qatari Emiri Naval Forces, Major General Abdullah Al-Sulaiti, stated that the launch of the warship and the patrol boat comes in the context of a Qatari project to supply 4 corvette ships and two patrol boats, in addition to a helicopter carrier, indicating that this project would enhance Maritime security in the Arab Gulf, and as he put it, protects Qatar's vital interests.
