The authorities have renewed the confinement of Conakry, and above all,

the gatherings are limited

to 30 people in the capital, and to 50 people in towns in the interior of the country.

Suddenly, the RPG of Alpha Condé and the UFDG of Cellou Dalein Diallo, the two big political formations engaged in this campaign, decided to privilege the door-to-door.

We should therefore see a campaign of proximity.

Despite the coronavirus epidemic, there will still be rallies.

We have advised our activists to wear masks, but it will be difficult to respect the distances

", recognizes Dr Ousmane Kaba, one of the 12 presidential candidates.

This politician has planned meetings, but it is impossible, he says, to know how many people will be gathered.

Will there be exceptions for the campaign?

The Minister of Public Security should soon specify the sanctions in the event of non-compliance with the state of health emergency.

Beginning of the distribution of voter cards

On October 18,

nearly 5.4 million voters will be called to vote

and it is also this Friday that the Electoral Commission begins distributing the new voter cards.

To get their precious sesame, voters must go to the "administrative cards distribution commissions": these are structures that have been established in the municipalities.

These commissions are open every day.

Voters can withdraw their cards until polling day.

They simply need to bring their identity document or the receipt obtained at the time of enrollment last summer.

Mamadi 3 Kaba, the spokesperson for the Céni, is aware of this: "

The withdrawal of voter cards is an element that can influence the participation rate

 ".

This is why agents of the Electoral Commission will also go down on the ground, to go to the voters.

We hope that there will not be a selective distribution of cards on the ground

", tempers a candidate in this election, who fears that the distributions will be massive in the strongholds of the ruling party, to the detriment of other regions of the country .
