China News Service, Fuzhou, September 18 (Guo Chaokai) At the 2020 China Aerospace Conference held on the 18th, Zhou Yanfei, deputy chief designer of China’s manned space engineering, said that China is currently continuing to deepen the demonstration of the manned moon landing program. A generation of manned launch vehicles can send manned spacecraft and lunar landers into the Earth-Moon transfer orbit.

Zhou Yanfei said that the new generation of manned carrier rocket is large in scale and could be considered for launching at the Wenchang launch site.

The main features of this type of rocket fully inherit the existing engine and rocket body structure results and development conditions; modular design is conducive to combination expansion; high reliability and safety, meeting manned development requirements; comprehensive indicators aiming at the world's advanced level.

At the Twelfth China International Aerospace Expo held in November 2018, the new generation of manned carrier rocket was unveiled for the first time.

According to reports, the new generation of manned rockets are designed in accordance with the highest safety standards for manned flight. The orbit to the moon meets the requirements of a 25-ton manned spacecraft and can be used for manned lunar exploration in the future.

This rocket is a three-stage semi-liquid carrier rocket with a total length of about 90 meters, a diameter of 5 meters, and a take-off weight of about 2000 tons. It can send 25 tons of payload directly into the moon orbit, or send 70 tons of payload into the near ground. track.

Manned landing on the moon is the common dream of mankind.

The United States achieved the first human landing on the moon on July 20, 1969, and sent many astronauts to the moon by December 1972.

In recent years, the United States has proposed to "return to the moon."

From the perspective of the sustainability of manned spaceflight, China has organized multiple rounds of manned lunar exploration demonstrations since 2011, and has gradually formed a consensus.

At present, China is continuing to deepen the demonstration of the manned moon exploration program.

Zhou Yanfei stated that in the process of demonstration, China proposed an orbital docking flight model based on a new generation of manned launch vehicle.

The demonstration of this flight mode includes a new generation of manned launch vehicle, a new generation of manned spacecraft, and a lunar lander; in addition, a lunar orbiting space station and a manned lunar mobile laboratory are also being demonstrated.

The reporter learned that the development goals of China's manned lunar exploration include: realizing the Chinese landing on the moon, making breakthroughs in mastering basic technologies such as manned land-to-moon reciprocation, lunar residence, and man-machine joint exploration; constructing a lunar scientific research test station and carrying out continuous system Scientific investigations and related technical experiments to explore the development and utilization of earth and moon space resources.
