Belarus is strengthening the protection of the border with Lithuania and Poland, as well as with Ukraine, said President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko on the evening of September 17, speaking at the women's forum "For Belarus".

“We are forced to withdraw troops from the streets, as I have already said, to put half of the army under arms and close the state border from the west, primarily with Lithuania and Poland.

We are forced to strengthen the state border, to our greatest regret, with our brotherly Ukraine, ”Lukashenka said.

He also called on the peoples of Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine "to stop their crazy politicians, not to let the war break out."

“Moreover, I don’t want Belarus and Poland, Lithuania to turn into a theater of military operations where not our issues will be resolved,” the Belarusian leader added, stressing that the issue of the whole of Europe is probably being resolved now.

Later, the State Border Committee of Belarus reported that the protection of the state border is being carried out in an enhanced version with the use of tactical reserves.

BelTA informs about it.

“All measures are taken taking into account the evolving situation in each specific direction.

Checkpoints are issued for entry and exit within the capacity, "- stated in the CPC.

At the same time, Lithuania and Poland reported that there were no changes in the work of border control points.

According to the Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius, Minsk is trying to find an external threat due to the crisis in the country.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in an interview with RTVI, drew attention to the fact that it is from these two countries that the calls for a change of power in Belarus are being heard.

“I have already spoken several times about the situation in which Svetlana Tikhanovskaya found herself.

That she is not speaking in her own voice is obvious to me.

She is in the capital of Lithuania, which, together with our Polish colleagues, is demanding a change of power in Belarus, ”the minister said.

Lavrov called on the Belarusian oppositionists to resist "gross and outspoken manipulation" by other states.

Recall that on August 31, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia imposed sanctions against the top leadership of Belarus.

Thus, Alexander Lukashenko, as well as 29 people from the presidential administration of Belarus, employees of the Central Election Commission, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Investigative Committee, the Ministry of Justice, the Prosecutor General's Office, the KGB and the Security Council were declared personas "non grata" in the territory of the three Baltic states.

"I swear - there were no lies in the elections"

In addition, Alexander Lukashenko assured the participants of the women's forum held at the Minsk-Arena that there were no falsifications in the August 9 presidential elections.

“I swear to you - there were no lies at the elections, you cannot falsify elections in 80%,” he said.

The Belarusian president added that the elections were held in accordance with the law, and Minsk does not need approval of their results from the European Parliament or other countries.

At the same time, he compared his rival for the post of head of state, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, with the leader of the opposition of Venezuela, Juan Guaido.

“Neighboring countries refuse to recognize the results of the elections and, according to the Venezuelan scenario, found the Belarusian“ guaidiha ”and declared it president.

Look how the baton was passed - from Lithuania to Poland, from Poland to Ukraine.

Today they connected another, as they believe, thermonuclear bomb.

They blew it up in Brussels - the European Parliament joined in and also did not recognize our elections, ”Lukashenka said.

According to the official data of the Central Election Commission of Belarus, the incumbent President Alexander Lukashenko won 80.1% of the vote in the elections held on August 9, and his main rival Svetlana Tikhanovskaya - 10.12%.

On the eve of the European Parliament (EP) adopted a resolution, according to which the results of elections in Belarus are rejected, and Alexander Lukashenko is not recognized as the legitimate president of the country after the expiration of his current term of office.

They also supported the introduction of sanctions "against those responsible for falsifying the election results and carrying out repressions in Belarus, including Alexander Lukashenko."

In addition, the MEPs expressed support for the representatives of the Belarusian opposition.

In particular, a member of the coordination council of Maria Kolesnikova and a representative of the joint headquarters of Tikhanovskaya Veronika Tsepkalo.

At the same time, the document condemns the alleged “hybrid interference” in the affairs of Belarus by Russia.

We add that Moscow has repeatedly stated that it does not interfere in the internal affairs of Belarus, and urged the EU and the United States to adhere to a similar position.

We emphasize that the resolutions of the European Parliament are of a recommendatory nature and are not legally binding on the part of the EU institutions.

According to the Chairman of the State Duma of Russia Viacheslav Volodin, the European Parliament is trying to replace the Belarusian people by its decision.

“The statement of the European Parliament is a gross interference in the affairs of Belarus,” he said.
