Egyptian director and artistic producer Nasr Mahrous announced that the crisis between his company "Free Music" and singer Baha Sultan has not ended yet. In press statements, he denied what was said about the termination of the contract between the company and Baha Sultan.

Mahrous said that the ruling was rejected in the form and substance of the subsidiary lawsuit submitted by Bahaa Sultan, and it ruled to implement the contract between us, which ended in kind and attached thereto, to execute 3 singing albums in 3 years.

And Bahaa Sultan announced last Wednesday morning the termination of his contract with producer Nasr Mahrous, owner of Free Music.

Sultan wrote on his official page on the social networking site Facebook, "Thank God, my contract with Free Music Nasr Mahrous has been terminated."

Sultan deleted this post and wrote another post on his official page, "First, you are very sad and happy with your reaction." He pointed out that the previous period was very difficult and affected him psychologically. Sultan confirmed that the issue has a positive turn from the legal point of view, and promised his audience to clarify what happened in the session The last to come.

"A cigarette" the beginning of the dispute

The dispute between Bahaa Sultan and Nasr Mahrous began about 6 years ago when Sultan refused to renew his contract with Mahrous. The penalty was $ 1.5 million, so the matter reached the court, and Sultan stopped singing completely.

The album "Sijara" was supposed to be the last album in Sultan's contracts with Mahrous according to Sultan's statements, but Nasr Mahrous did not release the album, and then the condition of releasing 5 albums was not fulfilled, as Bahaa released 4 albums since the beginning of his career with Free Music. The last one was the album "Walna" in 2011.

Attempts at reconciliation

It is noteworthy that at the beginning of the year 2020, the artist and producer Esaad Younes launched a hope for Nasr Mahrous, asking him to allow Baha Sultan to return to the music scene again, at that time Mahrous met this hope with acceptance, assuring the audience that people were keen to end the dispute with him.

Mahrous indicated in his comment that he was the one who discovered Baha Sultan's talent, and who chose his artistic name, which he was opposed to, as he called him Sultan and gave him the opportunity to start his artistic career through his company, and Mahrous claimed that he did not spare him the effort and experience as he claimed.

Star maker or killer?

Nasr Mahrous is called the star maker, as he discovered or recreated an entire generation of singers, such as Mohamed Fouad, Tamer Hosni, Sherine Abdel Wahab, Baha Sultan and others.

But the fame of the star maker is not the only one related to Nasr Mahrous, as he is also famous for monopolizing talents and imposing his control over them, so that they remain captive to his company for very long periods, and perhaps Baha Sultan's model is not the only one in this equation.

Back in the nineties of the last century, Mahrous succeeded with the singer Mohamed Fouad from the beginning of the nineties until 1998, after the album "True Love" was released, but the latter decided to move away from Mahrous at the time, which caused a major crisis, so that Mahrous confirmed at the time that he could Making stars even if they were children, which is what he did already, as he produced a singing album for a group of children, the "Free Baby" team, famous for the song "Papa Finn", which achieved unprecedented success at the time.

Nasr Mahrous has a lot of crises with other singers, especially Tamer Hosni, who, after he separated from him, demanded compensation of 81 million pounds, which is the value of the penalty clause between them, despite Mahrous's permission to photograph and contract with Mohsen Jaber.

Mahrous was also intransigent against the singer Khaled Ajaj according to the latter’s statements, as he received an offer from a major company, but told Mahrous that he wanted to complete his contract with “Free Music” in exchange for only 10% of the value of the second company’s contract, which was rejected by Mahrous. In the end, the matter leads to the termination of the contract between Ajaj and Mahrous and the payment of the penalty clause.

The same thing was repeated with the singer Haitham Shaker, who canceled his contract with Nasr Mahrous and paid the penalty clause, commenting that Mahrous killed his talent and did not complete his contracts, and Shaker confirmed that Mahrous was the biggest obstacle in his artistic career.

Mustafa Shawky

Nasr Mahrous’s last stop is the making of a new star, the rising singer Mustafa Shawky, the owner of the song "Matsh Al Quloub", which achieved great success in the last period.

Although the latter entered the world of singing since 2003, but it became the latest project of Nasr Mahrous, and it appears that it is an attempt by Mahrous to create a new singer that fills the void between corporate and underground singers, as he tries through him to create a different form and performance, which raises the question whether the fate will be Shawqi Katamer Hosni or Baha Sultan?
