"The Russian Ministry of Health has made changes to the registration certificates of two domestic drugs for the treatment of a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) ... allowing their use on an outpatient basis," the statement said.

Previously, drugs could only be used to treat patients in hospitals.

In June, the Ministry of Health approved the drug Areplivir, which is an analogue of the drug Favipiravir, invented in Japan, used to treat COVID-19.
