In recent years, the Liberals have collaborated with the Social Democratic-led government.

But at the same time, Ulf Kristersson wants the Liberals back to bourgeois cooperation.

In Thursday's party leader hearing in SVT's Aktuellt, party leader Nyamko Sabuni was asked if she can support a government that is dependent on the Sweden Democrats.

- You have to try to have several balls in your head when discussing this issue.

In part, I think it is set very early because there are no elections until 2022. But when we look at the Sweden Democrats, words like cooperation, collaboration and so on are used.

- The January agreement was created to keep the extremist parties out, but that is not how the Riksdag works as both extremist parties have influence.

We have experienced a whole spring where the extremist parties have done something together and demanded more money for welfare, which is good.

In the Riksdag, we will have the support of all parties that want to implement the policy that the Liberals stand for.

"I do not think that is possible"

But Sabuni sees it as unlikely that the Liberals and SD will be able to have a budget collaboration.

- On the other hand, I honestly think that it is very difficult to imagine that SD and L, which are considered to be opposites of each other, could present a common liberal budget.

I do not think that is possible.

And regarding a straight answer to when the Liberals will actually decide which side to stand on, she gave no concrete answer.

- We will announce well in advance of the 2022 election, but an incredible amount is happening in politics and that those who already think they can put their foot down risk only disappointing the voters once again, which we saw in 2018.
