Janine Alm Ericson is today the Green Party's group leader in the Riksdag and the party's gender equality and foreign policy spokesperson.

In an interview with Göteborgs-Posten, she says that she now wants to take over the role of spokesperson in the Green Party when Isabella Lövin resigns.

"Pouring courage into the movement is a central task," she tells the newspaper.

Hirvonen and Le Moine other candidates

The Green Party's other group leader in the Riksdag, Annika Hirvonen and Member of the Riksdag Rebecka Le Moine, have previously stated that they are running for the post as spokesperson.

Minister for Gender Equality Åsa Lindhagen has also previously said that she "strongly considers" running for office.

EU parliamentarian Alice Bah Kuhnke, State Secretary Maria Ferm and Minister of Culture Amanda Lind have said they will not run.
