“Two long-range Tu-22m3 bombers of the Aerospace Forces performed a planned flight in airspace over the neutral waters of the Black Sea,” RIA Novosti reported.

It is noted that during the flight the crews of the bombers "covered about 4.5 thousand kilometers and were in the air for more than 5 hours."

The department reported that at certain stages of the route, the planes were accompanied by the Su-27 of the Russian Aerospace Forces, as well as fighters from foreign countries.

The Ministry of Defense noted that long-range aviation pilots regularly fly over the neutral waters of the Arctic, the North Atlantic, the Black and Baltic Seas, the Pacific Ocean and stressed that all flights of the Russian Armed Forces aircraft are carried out in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace.

On September 14, it was reported that two Tu-160 missile carriers flew over the Barents and Norwegian Seas, as well as the Atlantic Ocean.
