China News Service, September 16 According to the website of the Chinese Embassy in Mali, since the beginning of August, Mali has opened its land and air borders, and international flights and personnel exchanges have gradually resumed. Some expatriates and personnel from Chinese-funded enterprises are considering coming to Malaysia one after another. For the latest security and epidemic situation, the Chinese Embassy in Mali issued the following reminder to Chinese citizens coming to Malaysia recently:

1. About the recent political and security situation in Mali

After the military coup in Mali on August 18, the overall situation has slowed down, but the political situation is still unclear, and unstable and uncertain factors have increased. The embassy requires Chinese citizens who intend to come to Malaysia to be vigilant and strengthen precautions. It is forbidden to travel to the northern part of central Malaysia. Go to other areas including the capital Bamako.

2. Regarding epidemic prevention requirements for entry into Mali

According to the requirements of the Mali health department, all passengers who come to Malaysia and transit passengers must present a negative certificate of COVID-19 nucleic acid test seven days before entry, wear a mask at the airport, maintain social distancing, and undergo temperature testing.

After entering Mali, it is recommended that you consciously stay at home for two weeks in a responsible attitude towards yourself and others.

3. About flight information and on-board epidemic prevention

At present, Air France and Ethiopian Airlines have daily flights to Malaysia (affected by the coup, ECOWAS countries have closed borders with Malaysia, and flights between other ECOWAS countries and Mali have been temporarily cancelled). Please pay attention to flight information and transit countries China’s visa, epidemic prevention and other policies, and carry immunization and health certificates for inspection.

The current international travel infection risk is relatively high, please take personal protection during the flight and transit.

The embassy sorted out the precautions for international travel protection for your reference:

  (1) Before taking the plane into the seat, it is recommended to wipe and disinfect the armrests, buckles, small tables, and display screens with wet wipes.

  (2) During the flight, it is recommended to wear a mask throughout the flight, try not to touch the outer surface of the mask, and replace the mask in time when it becomes wet or stained with secretions.

Turn on the air conditioner all the way and blow down to keep the air flowing.

  (3) Wash your hands frequently or use disinfectant wipes to wipe your hands, and use paper towels or elbows to cover up when you sneeze.

  (4) Get enough rest, reduce the frequency of leaving your seat, do not change seats at will, reduce the range of activities in the aircraft, and minimize contact and conversation with others.

If symptoms such as fever and cough appear on the plane, they should report the truth to the crew immediately, and the crew will arrange for passengers to be isolated in the rear cabin of the plane.

When entering China, you should proactively declare your symptoms of physical discomfort and inform your travel history and contact history.
