The clinics in Blekinge have had a break in their cell samples since April as a result of the corona pandemic and the region now has a large number of women to have time to examine to catch up.

With the help of the self-tests that will be introduced in the county this autumn, it is hoped to be able to get more women to test themselves, even those who did not want to come when they were called.

This applies to those women who have been absent from their vocations for more than six years.

For our part, we estimate that there are approximately 1,000 women, says Bodil Ehn, operations manager at the Women's Clinic in Blekinge.

"Perceived discomfort during examination"

Should the test not give indications of any HPV virus, the woman does not need to come to the reception.

In this way, it can make it easier for those who withdraw to be examined.

- You have experienced discomfort during an examination or it is something that makes you experience it very, very difficult to come, says Bodil Ehn.

Experience from other regions indicates that few women return the test, but the goal is for 30 percent of Blekinge's sent tests to return.

In the clip, Bodil Ehn explains how to go about getting your test home.

When you have finished your test at home, you send the test tube in the envelope, and it is handled in a lab.
