Peskov stressed that "no decisions have been made yet."
He explained that the ministry "is acting in accordance with the circumstances that have developed as a result of an unprecedented pandemic and the global economic crisis that was provoked by this pandemic."

He said that "the Ministry of Finance, which is facing a budget deficit, is looking for sources to increase the revenue side of the budget."
“This is a completely normal process, but I will repeat once again: no decisions were made in this regard,” Peskov added.
Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Finance has prepared a draft amendment to the Tax Code, which proposes to increase excise rates on cigarettes and tobacco products by 20% in 2021.
