A “violent fire” in a nomadic camp in Marseille left one dead in the night from Tuesday to Wednesday,

According to our information, the fire broke out at 00:45 on this vacant land of 200 m² located in the 12th arrondissement.
Twenty-seven people were evacuated by marine firefighters, including eleven children.
The camp was burnt to the ground.
A 46-year-old man was found dead in this fire which "would have started from the kitchen of one of the barracks", a police source told AFP.
Nine gas cylinders were found on the spot, according to the marine firefighters.
