A light aircraft, known to have Korean international students on board, disappeared off the coast of Florida, USA, and local authorities searched for it.
According to the US Consulate General of Atlanta and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on the 15th (local time), an aircraft with two people, including a Korean American student, went missing during the flight on the 13th.
This international student is a student at the pilot school, and the accident was reported to be a Vance Aircraft RV-9.
The FAA said the aircraft was departing from Jack Edwards Airport in the Gulf of Alabama and heading for Ocala, Florida, according to local media.
Florida's Taylor County officials notified the FAA the previous day that they had found some debris from an aircraft that appears to have been accidentally located in a local wildlife control area.
The FAA and the Federal Transport Safety Commission (NTSB) have investigated, but local media reports that the exact location of the accident and the name and condition of the passengers are not yet known.
The police (sheriff's office) in the area of the accident are mobilizing crews to conduct a search.
"We are aware of the facts, and we are in close contact with local police and family to understand the situation," said Police Consul Kang Hyeong-cheol, Consulate General of Atlanta.
