Hundreds of thousands of Arab activists and academics signed what they called the "Palestine Charter";
To emphasize their adherence to advocating for the Palestinian cause, and to reject Arab normalization with the Israeli occupation.
The number of signatories to the charter has exceeded 800,000 in less than 24 hours, as the campaign was launched at 5 pm on Tuesday, and the association aspires to reach one million signatures.
The popular campaign to support the Palestinian cause and the rejection of normalization called for signing the charter, coinciding with the signing of two normalization agreements between Manama and Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv at the White House.
The popular campaign is an alliance of a number of Arab organizations in support of the Palestinian people, most notably (the Emirati League for Resisting Normalization, the Bahraini Association for Resisting Normalization with the Zionist Enemy, the Qatar Youth Against Normalization, the Palestine Advocacy Association, Youth for Jerusalem, and the Global Coalition for Jerusalem and Palestine).
The text of the charter states, "Out of my belief in the justice of the Palestinian cause and commitment to my responsibility towards it, I have the honor to sign the Palestine Charter, through which I affirm that Palestine is an occupied Arab state and its liberation is a duty, and the Zionist entity is an occupied, racist and usurping entity of our Al-Aqsa Mosque and the land of Palestine, and normalization in all its forms is a betrayal." .
Activists opposed to normalization have also launched two hashtags.
They are the #Palestine_Charter, and below it is # PeoplesAgainst normalization, and the signature includes a picture bearing an explicit condemnation of normalization, and its website pledges to stay with Palestine and its victory and hostility to its occupier.
Arab politicians, activists, academics and media professionals participated in spreading the charter on their accounts on social media, confirming their categorical rejection of what Abu Dhabi and Manama had done to normalize relations with Tel Aviv.
