The man admitted buying sex but appealed the rape sentence to the Court of Appeal.
The appeals court hearings that were to be held on Thursday have been postponed because the chamber prosecutor wants the preliminary investigation to be completed, which may take longer than four to six weeks.
The Court of Appeal considers that the man should no longer be detained during the time when the reasons for detention do not outweigh it, but it means for the man.
However, the suspicions against him still remain.

The man has held several positions of trust within Halmstad municipality.
In connection with his arrest, the party froze his assignment, but when he then admitted buying sex, he had to leave all political assignments.
