China News Service, Hefei, September 16 (Reporter Zhang Qiang) A dialogue meeting between Anhui and ASEAN consulates in Shanghai was held in Hefei on the 16th.

About 130 people including the heads of the consulate offices of the eight ASEAN countries in Shanghai, including Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and other ASEAN countries, representatives of some companies from ASEAN countries, and political and business people from Anhui Province attended the meeting.

  On the same day, through the video, Anhui Province and Laos Province, Anhui Province and Penang State of Malaysia, Xuancheng City of Anhui Province and Paranaque City of the Philippines signed a letter of intent; Huangshan, Anhui and Cambodia’s Angkor Wat, Hefei Science and Technology Museum and The Penang Youth Development Agency of Malaysia signed a memorandum of cooperation.

  At the dialogue meeting, representatives from Anhui and ASEAN countries conducted face-to-face discussions on exchanges and cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, tourism, investment, and humanities. The heads of the consulate offices of ASEAN countries in Shanghai and the heads of relevant departments of Anhui Province made recommendations respectively.

  Yau Shihao, Consul General of the Consulate General of Malaysia in Shanghai, said that since 2009, China has been Malaysia's largest trading partner for 11 consecutive years.

Malaysia encourages investors, including China, to invest in manufacturing and service industries, and also hopes to attract more high-tech, high value-added, knowledge and capital-intensive high-quality investments.

  The deputy consul general of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Shanghai, Aleweilai Su Jialun, said that this dialogue will help promote bilateral trade between Anhui and ASEAN countries, enhance understanding between enterprises of the two sides, and give them the opportunity to face-to-face exchanges and share experiences.

Anhui and Laos have always maintained a good cooperative relationship. In the future, Laos and Anhui have the potential for cooperation in culture, tourism, agriculture, education, and new infrastructure.

  Zheng Yi, deputy consul general of the Kingdom of Thailand in Shanghai, is here for the fourth time in Anhui.

He told reporters that every time he comes to Anhui, he can see new changes.

"When I visited the Anhui Celebrity Hall in the morning, I found that many Chinese celebrities who are well-known in Thailand are from Anhui, such as Bao Zheng. I suggest that Anhui can use Anhui celebrities as a highlight of external publicity in the future."

  The dialogue meeting of the day attracted many heads of Chinese enterprises who are interested in or have invested in ASEAN countries to come to negotiate and connect.

  Geng Maolin, assistant to the general manager of the market development department of Hefei International Inland Port Development Co., Ltd., introduced that Hefei China-Europe Express has shipped "Made in Anhui" products to Europe and Central Asia.

"At present, trade commodities between Anhui and ASEAN countries are mainly transported by sea and air. We want to open a direct freight train from Hefei to ASEAN countries. So today I have a question and want to consult the consuls of ASEAN countries to see if there are opportunities for cooperation. ."(Finish)
