China News Service, September 16 According to the Canadian "Sing Tao Daily" report, the current new crown pneumonia epidemic is difficult for international students around the world.

According to the latest issue of the "Canada Immigration Newsletter", the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship of Canada released a summary of temporary measures for international students, study permits and post-graduation work visas.

According to the government’s executive order, only international students belonging to three categories can enter Canada. They are international students with a valid study permit, international students with a study permit approved on or before March 18, 2020, and from the United States Of international students.

The abstract stated that international students make important contributions to Canada’s society and economy. Therefore, the government has taken some measures to ensure that international students who choose to study in Canada do what they want.

Currently, the changes include a two-stage study permit process, and online learning will be counted as a post-graduation work visa.

The epidemic has made it difficult for international students to obtain the documents required for their home country study permits that they usually need.

Therefore, the Canadian Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship has implemented a two-stage approval process that allows international students to start their fall semester study online without a final study permit.

Those who are unable to provide biometric data, immigration medical examination results, or other required documents can still be considered for obtaining a study permit. Those who are approved in the first stage have basically met most of the conditions for a study permit.

The Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship of Canada stated that it will process the completed study permit application as soon as possible.

After relaxing travel restrictions, students who successfully complete the two stages will be able to come to Canada.

Regarding the work permit after graduation, if a student is in a Canadian-recognized educational institution, such as a university or college, after completing the recognized course, a work permit for up to 3 years can be obtained.

The deadline for the work permit depends on the time the individual has studied in Canadian institutions of higher learning.

Before the epidemic, distance learning could not be counted as a work permit.

However, the Canadian Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship has issued a series of announcements that allow online learning to be included in work permit qualifications.

Currently, students can study online overseas before April 30, 2021, without affecting their qualifications or future work permit deadlines.

But they must complete at least half of the courses in Canada.

In addition, students who enroll in courses starting in the spring, summer or fall (May to September) semester of 2020 and last for 8 to 12 months can also apply for a work permit after completing all courses overseas.

For students enrolled in courses starting from May to September 2020, students studying online until April 30, 2021, and students graduating from more than one recognized course of study, when applying for work permits in the future, The study time can be combined, and the same conditions apply to students who need to complete half of the courses in Canada.

Under normal circumstances, international students need to study full-time in Canada for at least 8 months before they have the materials to obtain a work permit, and they are not eligible for online study before.

Due to the epidemic in 2020, the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship of Canada stated that before December 31, 2020, the study time completed overseas will not be deducted from the time on the work permit.
