Last Thursday the former legal coordinator of Podemos

José Manuel Calvente

spent three hours before the judge of the National Court

Manuel García Castellón

.

By videoconference from

Barcelona

, he relates as a witness the reasons that have led him to maintain that the

Dina case

is "a montage" of Podemos to obtain electoral revenue.

At the beginning of the appearance, before the lawyers of Pablo Iglesias and his former assistant

Dina Bousselham

, Calvente indicates that within the party they explained to him that there was "a strategy" to "make a media issue of the matter."

Part of that strategy, he adds, was to get the prosecution to agree to cite both as harmed by the theft of Bousselham's mobile phone and the dissemination of its content.

If the prosecutor requested it, he explains, things would go faster and the matter could be exploited earlier.

Calvente in his statement before the judge on the 'Dina case': "They wanted to make a media issue"

Minutes later, the judge reminds Calvente of the interview published in EL MUNDO in which he affirmed that everything had been a montage.

The lawyer responds that as soon as he had news of what Iglesias had declared before the judge, he knew that he had "lied" and that he had hidden "important things" from the National Court.

"Don't be silly," they reply in Podemos when he tells them that the statement and the matter in general seem "a hoax."

Calvente assures that Iglesias and Dina Bousselham lie: "The captures were made by Dina"

The statement delves into this supposed strategy of Podemos and the witness specifies that within the formation there was a nucleus of leaders, which he calls the "crisis cabinet", who was in charge of marking the way.

In it were Iglesias and Minister

Irene Montero

along with

Rafael Mayoral

and

Juanma del Olmo

.

The strategy was simple, he adds: "We are going to use the

Villarejo case

for political gain."

Calvente points out the Podemos strategy: "We are going to use Villarejo for political gain"

The initial investigation of the

Dina case

has turned in recent months against the Vice President of the Government, although the Hearing has just closed that route to the investigating judge.

One of the dark points of Iglesias' performance was why it had taken at least half a year to return to Bousselham the stolen card that he had sent to the Podemos leader from

Interviú

.

Calvente explains what the party told her: that Iglesias was afraid that she would leak more material that would harm him.

The statement to questions from the Podemos lawyer caused him to demand the identity of the person from Podemos who had told him that.

Calvente does not want to for fear of reprisals, which leads the judge to consult the prosecutor and conclude that, if he does not give the name, the value of the statement is very limited.

Calvente explains what a person very close to Iglesias told him: "He doesn't trust Dina"

At the end of the appearance, the judge explains to Calvente that he has read in the media that he is receiving pressure and threats.

The witness confirms it, but when he tries to offer details he gets excited.

When he manages to recover, he talks about a group in the pay of Podemos that is in charge of smear campaigns and that fears that so much incitement to hatred will lead to a violent act against him or his family.

"Podemos has a paid team to take on the judges and people who attack him," says the lawyer.

"There is a lot of crazy in Podemos, there are very crazy bases, many radicals, there is a lot of

kale borroka

."

The statement ends with the judge offering protection to Calvente, who for the moment declines it.
