"The United States has a key role in the protests in Belarus"

The United States of America played a key role in preparing the massive protest demonstrations in Belarus following the August 9 presidential elections.

This was stated by the head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin.

According to him, in the events in the republic "a western trace is clearly traced," while preparations for the protests were carried out long before the vote.

“The USA plays a key role in the current events in Belarus.

Although Washington is trying to keep a low profile in public space, after the start of mass street protests, the Americans have multiplied their funding for Belarusian anti-government forces.

Its volumes are estimated in tens of millions of dollars, ”Naryshkin said.

He stressed that the protest actions in Belarus are coordinated from abroad.

According to him, for the period 2019 - early 2020, Washington, through various non-governmental organizations, directed "about $ 20 million to organize anti-government protests", which were aimed at forming a network of "independent bloggers" and accounts on social networks, as well as preparing activists for street actions.

“The most promising of them were trained abroad, in particular in Poland, Lithuania and Ukraine, where they were trained by experienced American instructors in“ non-violent protests, ”Naryshkina quotes TASS.

Naryshkin also said that Svetlana Tikhanovskaya and other opposition activists were taken "under close tutelage" by the United States.

The Americans promote them as “people's leaders” and future leaders of “democratic Belarus”.

“In contacts with European allies, Washington insists on the need to increase pressure on Minsk to induce the legitimate leadership of Belarus to launch a dialogue with the so-called coordinating council on the“ transfer of power ”.

In fact, we are talking about a poorly veiled attempt to organize another “color revolution” and an anti-constitutional coup, the goals and objectives of which have nothing to do with the interests of Belarusian citizens, ”said the director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service.

In turn, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, during a meeting with the country's political activists, said that the tactics of the organizers of the protest actions were based on the classic American textbook of "color revolutions".

According to him, due to the analysis of events, "the true intentions and tactics of the aggressors" become clear.

“To remove all masks at once, let's call these players by name.

At the level of global centers, this is primarily the United States of America, more specifically, its network of funds to support the so-called democracy.

American satellites actively operated on the European continent: Poland, Lithuania, the Czech Republic and, unfortunately, our Ukraine, ”the Belarusian leader said.

He also announced seven stages of the scenario for the destruction of Belarus, including, according to BelTA, "the Maidan scenario" and "an attempt to legalize the infrastructure of changes."

“The Belarusian scenario of 2020 is a fusion of the most effective color destabilization technologies that have been tested in different countries.

The stake is obvious on the scale and duration of the protests, the wear and tear of forces and the depletion of resources.

We know who is in charge, who wants something in Belarus, and therefore we do not relax and are ready to answer any challenge, ”Lukashenka added.

Earlier in an interview with RT and other Russian media, the President of Belarus made a similar statement, pointing out that protests in the country are controlled from outside the United States through the "center near Warsaw", as well as from the Czech Republic, Ukraine and Lithuania.

"The illegitimacy of elections is a myth"

Various allegations regarding the unfavorable situation in Belarus, in particular, about the illegitimacy of the presidential elections held in the republic on August 9, are false.

Lukashenka said this during a meeting with political activists of the state.

“The allegedly spontaneous self-organization of society, the ripening of the so-called revolutionary situation, the“ illegitimacy of elections, ”and the like are all myths.

They are completely broken by an in-depth analysis of the events that took place long before the electoral campaign of the current year, ”Lukashenka said.

According to him, what is happening in the republic "is not something unexpected."

“Older people remember something different in Belarus, when thousands and thousands of people took to the streets in the 1990s, overturned cars, burned them, threw Molotov cocktails on the first floors of the then not current boutiques and shops, but into the windows of ordinary people” - added the head of state.

Note that on the eve of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell called the events held in Belarus "falsified", stressing that Brussels does not consider Alexander Lukashenko the legitimate president of the country.

Later, former Belarusian presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya said that Lukashenka would be provided with guarantees of personal safety if he left office peacefully.

In this regard, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov indicated that Moscow considers Lukashenko "the legitimate president of Belarus."

“I don’t think he needs any security guarantees in his country.

Otherwise, this is all an internal affair of Belarus, ”said a Kremlin spokesman.

Detention in Minsk

Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus announced the arrest of three people - a 32-year-old native of the Brest region and two 21-year-old citizens of the republic.

They were going to attack the Belarusian policemen, in particular, with the help of "balls from bearings".

Firecrackers and checkers, balaclavas, filters from gas masks, a knife and a slingshot for firing balls from bearings were also found in the car of one of the detainees.

In addition, the ministry opened 43 criminal cases due to violence against police officers.

According to Andrei Parshin, the head of the Interior Ministry's own security department, 21 suspects have already been identified who can be brought to criminal responsibility with real terms of imprisonment.

He also said that in the period from August 9, the data of about 300 employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus got on the Internet.

At the same time, over 250 representatives of the department, as well as members of their families, were subjected to various insults, threats of violence and rape, including against children.
