"AMAN" to reduce fires in 3755 facilities in Sharjah

The Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority announced to “Emirates Today” that the number of those registered in the electronic linkage system for alarm devices “Aman” with the operations room of the General Administration of Civil Defense reached 3755 facilities, explaining that the system promotes rapid response to fires in the event they occur, confirming that the installation The system is mandatory for all establishments in the emirate, in application of the highest levels of prevention and safety.

The authority called for the need for owners of buildings and facilities to adhere to the safety rules and awareness guidelines issued by the authority, explaining that one of the most important safety and fire prevention requirements is the "safety" early warning system, which sends fire reports electronically without human intervention to the General Administration of Civil Defense, which reduces Response time to reports, especially when fires occurred in large residential establishments or towers and tall buildings, indicating that they had set a condition for installing the system before renewing their commercial licenses.

Sheikh Eng. Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Prevention and Safety Authority in Sharjah, said that “AMAN” is flexible that allows it to be integrated into the fire alarm control panel in the building, with the possibility of installing it in various types of facilities, using and maintaining it quite easily, pointing out that the system is considered one of the advanced systems. It can be upgraded and expanded in the future, and is fully connected to the two central monitoring stations through "mobile data" or "public telephone network."

He indicated that the authority is committed to fulfilling the tasks of managing and operating (AMAN) in various parts of Sharjah, according to the highest standards, in order to enhance safety and general prevention measures in homes and establishments in cooperation with the concerned authorities, to reduce the occurrence of accidents and fires and reduce their risks.

He pointed out that one of the most important things that inspectors do during their inspection of buildings is to ensure the safety of electrical devices, entrances and exits of fires, and the availability of lighting in them in the event that they are separated due to fire, wrong storage, and other other requirements, pointing out that there are a number of legislations that the authority distributed to Governmental departments to meet security and safety standards before obtaining a building permit, in order to preserve life and property.
