Social media pioneers shared a video clip showing Kurdish forces taking out women with their children who tried to escape through a closed tanker from Al-Hol camp in the countryside of Hasaka, northeastern Syria, several days ago.

The video showed several children going out with their mothers in a fainting state due to lack of oxygen and extreme heat inside the sealed tank.

Activists said that many women and children tried to escape in this way in previous periods, despite the severe risk and cost that may reach thousands of dollars, hoping to get out of the camp, which they say is like a huge prison.

Kurdish forces control Al-Hol camp in the countryside of Hasaka, and are holding women and children of ISIS fighters in difficult conditions.

About a month ago, UNICEF issued a statement expressing its deep concern over the death of eight children under the age of five in Al-Hol camp due to complications linked to malnutrition, dehydration and hypoglycemia.

She added in the statement, "About 40,000 children from more than 60 countries are still housed in Al Hol camp, who lack basic services and are forced to endure the summer heat and the shocks of violence and displacement. This difficult situation has been exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic, and the resulting Movement restrictions and isolation measures. "
