Apple introduced new Apple Watch and iPad models on Tuesday, as well as a new subscription, titled Apple One, but did not make any announcements about its highly anticipated next iPhone, which could be compatible with 5G.

At an entirely online event, organized from its headquarters in Cupertino, California, the apple brand first presented the Apple Watch Series 6, the latest addition to the galaxy of its connected watches.

The main innovation is a tool that calculates the level of oxygen in the blood in seconds, an effective assessment of respiratory functions according to Apple.

The Apple Watch Series 6, available for pre-order on Tuesday and in stores Friday, starts at $ 399.

An entry-level version, the Apple Watch SE, is available from $ 279.

Users will be able to synchronize their watch with the new fitness application, Fitness +, which offers online workouts to follow on an iPhone, iPad or Apple TV.

This application could compete with the services of the specialist in exercise bikes Peloton or sports equipment manufacturer Nike.

Another novelty: Apple One, a subscription to Apple's streaming, music and video game platforms, as well as to its cloud service (remote computing).

The basic service will launch this fall starting at $ 14.95 per month in around 100 countries, alongside a family plan ($ 19.95 per month).

A premium package ($ 29.95 per month), which will include Fitness + and Apple News +, the brand's news platform, will be launched in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States.

“With Apple One, you can access the best of Apple entertainment across all of your favorite devices and with just one subscription,” said Eddy Cue, head of corporate IT services and software.

Apple also announced new versions of the entry-level model of its iPad (from $ 329) and its iPad Air (from $ 599).

The California giant's iOS mobile operating system will get an update on Wednesday.

- The iPhone 12 in October?

-

"While the tie-in point for Wall Street remains the crucial iPhone 12 5G cycle, which is set to begin in early October, the launch of a new generation Apple Watch, iPad Air and a bundle of services are essential ingredients for the success of the Cupertino company as we approach 2021 and beyond, ”said Daniel Ives of Wedbush Securities.

The apple brand made no mention of its next iPhone, while the launch of an Apple smartphone compatible with 5G technology is particularly anticipated by the market and customers.

Several specialists believe that the next iPhone should be presented at a full-fledged event, possibly next month.

Production delays caused by the coronavirus pandemic have been cited in particular to justify this delay.

"For the crucial iPhone 12 launch, we anticipate increased production and underlying demand for the iPhone 12 model line (4 models expected), which we see as a cycle that does not occur. only once every 10 years, ”says Ives.

A sentiment shared by Avi Greengart, of Techsponential, who believes that Apple "absolutely needs" a 5G iPhone.

"Not for the United States but for China, where 5G is the engine of purchasing decisions", explains the expert.

Apple's competitors, including Koreans Samsung and LG, are already marketing 5G models of smartphones.

At the national level, China is far ahead of the United States in terms of the new generation of mobile networks.
