According to the UN refugee agency, a boat carrying migrants capsized on its way to Europe on Tuesday.
Libyan Coast Guard found three boats off the coast, one of which had capsized.
22 missing
The Coast Guard was able to take care of the bodies of two dead people, but another 22 are said to be missing and feared dead according to the International Organization for Migration.
- This new tragedy once again emphasizes the need for increased search and rescue capacity in the Mediterranean, says the organization's spokesperson Safa Msheli to AP.
45 survivors
From the three boats in total, 45 living people were also taken care of, all men from mainly Egypt and Morocco.
