Earlier today, the Sweden Democrats' group leader in Haninge, Dennis Askling, left all political assignments after he expressed himself racistly in a hidden chat.

It was revealed by Expressen on Tuesday.

Askling is the latest in a long line of people who have had to leave the party in recent years, but Jimmie Åkesson does not think that the Sweden Democrats stand out compared to other parties in terms of exclusion issues.

- This affects all parties in one way or another, he says and adds that there are people with "extremist inclinations" in several parties.

When asked why the Sweden Democrats did not discover this themselves but are journalists, he answers:

- As a party leader, I can not search among the members' private chats.

Åkesson, however, says he is happy with the revelation.

- I am very happy.

This is not the first time I have thanked Expressen.

We would never have found out otherwise, he says.
