In the trial of the Kuopio school attack, a letter is heard today from the mother of a young woman who died in the attack.

According to the district court, the mother has stated that she does not otherwise want to be heard in person in court.

The attack in October last year killed a 23-year-old woman who was a Ukrainian citizen.

He was married and studied business in Kuopio.

According to the lawyer representing the woman's widow, the woman had attended university in Ukraine, met her husband abroad and moved to Finland with her.

- (He) was quite talented, quickly learned the Finnish language, studied at a vocational school and went to work to clean up because the young people were saving for an apartment and their future family, the lawyer said in court earlier.

According to the lawyer, the woman was known as a positive, hard-working and open-minded person against whom no one could imagine having anything.

The trial will end tomorrow

The attack took place on the first day of October last year in the premises of Savo Vocational College located in connection with the Herman shopping center.

In addition to the woman who was killed, nine people were injured in the attack.

Today is the seventh and second last day of the trial in the Pohjois-Savo District Court.

In addition to the letter, the hearing will discuss the outcome of a mental health survey of the accused 25-year-old man.

The treatment is secret in that regard.

In addition, witnesses nominated by the accused are heard, at least some of whom are in camera.

The prosecutor is applying to the man for life imprisonment for murder and 20 attempted murder.

According to the defense, the man was guilty of reduced guilt at the time of the act, which is why he should be given a lesser punishment.

The trial will end with final statements tomorrow.

The judgment will be given at a later date to be announced.
