A day of "pain and prayer", in Caivano, for the last farewell to Maria Paola Gaglione, the 20-year-old who died after falling off a scooter together with her boyfriend, the transsexual Ciro Migliore, following the ramming by her brother , Michele.

Ciro had expressed the desire to see his beloved for the last time, and he did.

Escorted by the police, he paid homage to the young woman's body, before the coffin reached the church of San Paolo Apostolo in the Green Park for the funeral.

Previously, a poster sent by the young man had been posted outside the church by two young people aboard a moped: four photos of Ciro and Maria Paola together, a heart with their names and a long farewell message.

"We only ran towards our freedom, or at least we thought we did, towards our little big happiness. Wherever you are, my heart will be there with you. I will love you beyond the clouds. Ciro".

Don Patriciello: it is a day of pain and prayer

Shortly before celebrating the funeral, Don Maurizio Patriciello, parish priest of the Green Park, invited us to "stop hatred and violence", which rise "in behavior as on social networks" and not to "raise ideological flags ".

"A funeral Mass is celebrated, in front of parents, brothers, and I must proclaim the word of God and pray. For the living and for the dead".

The priest, who baptized Maria Paola, insisted on the pain of families.

As for the "dramatic and wrong" reaction of his brother, Don Patricello observed: "In his head he thought of saving her".

"But if we do not stop the hatred that spreads - he concluded - we must not be surprised at what happens".

The bells rang in mourning, in front of the church about 200 people, a small part of which entered the church, where the seats were assigned with social distancing.

A dozen of Maria Paola's friends brought white balloons.
