China News Service, September 15 reported that on the 15th local time, a fire broke out in a landmark building in the downtown business district of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, and thick smoke came out of the scene.

Lebanese officials subsequently stated that the fire was extinguished soon.

  According to reports, the fire destroyed a futuristic seaside building designed by the late famous designer Zaha Hadid.

After years of construction, this building is almost complete.

  Reuters quoted an eyewitness as saying that one side of the building was burning and firefighters tried to put it out.

  On August 4, a big explosion occurred in the Beirut port area, killing at least 190 people and injuring more than 6,500 people.

On September 10, another fire broke out in the port area.
