Start the clip to see how Hasse is doing - hear him tell about the ailments and the uncertainty he is forced to live with.

It started with osteoarthritis in one knee, and the pain got worse.

Three years ago, the knee was ready for surgery, but then the weight put sticks in the wheel.

- I was too heavy to operate on a new knee joint and was advised to lose 30 kilos.

With the LCHF diet, I managed to lose 20 kilos last fall.

But as Hasse approached surgical weight, his left foot swelled.

He got more and more sore, and since he would have to support extra on that foot after the operation, the doctors were clear: the foot had to be operated on before the knee, and Hasse ended up in the priority queue.

- It was in October 2019, but since then nothing has happened.

The only message I have received is that they can not give any message.

Had to start with a wheelchair

During the waiting period, his foot and knee got worse, and this spring he felt compelled to start using a wheelchair.

Hasse is not the one who usually complains, he says, and he understands that the corona pandemic has led to longer waiting times.

- But it is a strange system that they can not provide an approximate queue.

Then I could plan my time and know when to stay home.

As it is now, I dare not go anywhere further.

Information in 4-6 weeks

The head of the orthopedic clinic in Örebro County, Ewald Ornstein, tells SVT that it is very difficult for those who have had their operations postponed.

- We feel sorry for the victims.

Right now we are discussing whether we should not go out and inform everyone about when it is their turn.

Preliminary plan for this is about 4-6 weeks.

Shame that we have so bad here in Sweden that is considered one of the richest countries, while in other countries that we call developing countries it is a joke and talk about surgery wait list.

I think it is complicated that everything also depends on where you live.

Why do we have many different regions with lots of administration?

Should there be easier ways to do that?

Although this means that for example of three regions, each region chooses to specialize in something to be faster to deal with.

This may mean that we have to go a little further for a treatment, but it's better than just standing in line ...

My husband has spinal stenosis.

Was at USÖ in Nov, did MRI where this was found.

Would have time for surgery can-fever.

Then came the Corona.

His back is getting worse and worse.

Collided with our car in early March this year.

This did not make things better.

Got injuries to the neck and the back became even worse of course.

Called USÖ several times to find out about where he is on the waiting list.

He gets worse and worse, can not walk more than a few meters without stopping again and again.

Aches a lot.

At USÖ, the answer is that he is not a priority!

He is 78 years old and after this answer from USÖ you will involuntarily think "ättestupan" !!!

We understand the whole Corona situation but I see how my husband suffers in silence.

At the top of our wish list now is that a call for uptime of his back should be in our mailbox, soon !!!

I got an op. Time thanks to the Corona crisis, in March this year.

The reason was that they canceled the operation.

for 70+ patients, and then I got straight into the op.

sex with my broken knee, and underwent surgery.

It was at the last minute for my knee, otherwise I would have been in a wheelchair now.

But, now my other knee has clear symptoms with severe pain, difficulty moving, etc. so now it's time to look for op.

queue again.

Thinking that now it will be a long wait.

I'm very worried about that.

I am 61 and have severe osteoarthritis with severe pain and limited mobility.

I feel it gets harder and harder day by day.

I can not work soon.

To op.

then cont.

is far ahead so I do not know how I will be able to support myself.

Hopeless situation awaits.
