Together with a total of 1,000 refugees currently receiving, this will allow Germany to receive a total of approximately 2,750 refugees from Greece.

The German government emphasized on the same day that it is still committed to promoting solutions within the EU and will bear a share commensurate with the size of its country.

  The spokesperson of the German Federal Government Sebet issued a statement on the same day announcing the decision of the German government.

  A fire broke out in the Moria refugee camp, the country’s largest refugee camp on the island of Lesvos in Greece, leaving more than 12,000 refugees homeless.

The German Federal Minister of the Interior, Seehofer, initially announced the plan to receive no more than 150 unaccompanied minor refugees from this area.   Since the European refugee crisis broke out in 2015, more than one million new refugees have entered Germany, making refugee issues a hot topic in German political debates and struggles for a long time.
