Reko-ringarna is a growing popular movement where the idea is that consumers and producers should be able to trade with each other without any intermediaries.

In a parking lot opposite the church in Östervåla, several cars line up with the tailgates open.

When the clock strikes 18, people come in conflict to pick up the goods they have ordered in the newly started Reko ring.

When Petra Larsson has gone her way, she has full control to keep in all bags.

- I pick up for both me and my daughter.

It is fantastic for us who do not grow to be able to buy fresh and locally grown vegetables, she says.

All items are pre-ordered.

In this way you avoid wastage.

Ripples on the water

The ring in Östervåla started in June and currently has about 1,500 members.

A couple of months later, a "sister ring" was started in Tärnsjö.

- There were many who asked for a Reko-ring in Tärnsjö as well, so we thought we would test and get started, says cattle producer Åsa Berglund.

She is one of about 30 producers who have joined so far.

- I think it's great that it just pops up new producers who want to be involved and sell.

It was not known before how many entrepreneurs there were around the home, she says.

In October, an EU-funded project will be completed in which the Swedish Board of Agriculture has commissioned the Household Association to facilitate and promote the establishment of new Reko-rings.

In the clip above, you will hear more what the people of Våla think about Reko.
