The last rays of the sun are reflected on the Stockholm Sea and Swedes of all generations are enjoying it.

“Walking and playing golf, meeting friends: it's been a good time !, describes a Swedish couple, all smiles. You know in Sweden, we don't have that many cases of Covid-19, long live the freedom !"

Faced with the global pandemic, the country is giving some advice to curb the health crisis but does not impose any regulations, wearing a mask is not even recommended.

"Keep your distance, wash your hands, that's what we do. The Swedes listen, they do what they are told," said one resident.

10 times more deaths than in Norway or Finland

The strategy is paying off: the number of cases in Sweden is around 300 per day, 20 times less than in France.

It also helps to attract tourists.

"Here we can sit in the cafe without a mask, walk around without a mask. It's wonderful to see all those smiles," says a German on vacation.

But this freedom comes at a price: the country has 10 times more deaths than its neighbors, Norway and Finland.
