“People are fighting for freedom and for democracy, without aggression and violence.

Nobody throws stones, nobody sets fire to buildings.

Many demonstrators are being mistreated by the state.

It is important for me that there is no bloodbath.

If the state refuses to engage in dialogue with the people, Belarus may get something like a "Maidan", the head of state said.

He noted that he is not a “specialist on Belarus”, but does not see a “symbolic leader” around whom “people could rally”.

“In any case, it is important that Belarusians decide their own future.

No country can interfere in the internal affairs of another country, ”he stressed.

Earlier, Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said that the Ukrainian scenario of a "color revolution" was avoided. 

As Zelensky noted at the end of August, he would not want the events that occurred in Ukraine in 2014 to repeat itself in Belarus.
