The military in power in Mali are preparing to meet the heads of state of neighboring countries.

The presidents of ECOWAS meet this Tuesday, September 15 in Accra, Ghana.

The regional organization had given the junta until that date to cede power to a civilian, but national consultations diverge from these demands.

A plane chartered by Ghana is expected in Bamako, this Monday, September 14, to transport the Malian delegation.

It is not excluded that the head of the junta,

Colonel Assimi Goïta

, will make the trip himself.

According to those around him, this trip is important: there is no question of going to confront the presidents of the Economic Community of West African States.

In Accra, the Bamako soldiers initially intend to listen attentively to their interlocutors.

Then they will come back to the motives of the coup, even if they don't like that expression too much, to explain what happened here on August 18.

On the question of a possible handing over of power to civilians, an interlocutor rather close to the junta explains: “

We are going to make proposals for ending the crisis.

 "

In addition, the results of the days of consultation which ended this weekend in Bamako

are contested by the June 5 Movement

which contributed to the fall of the former president.

The M5 accuses the junta of having "

tampered with the results of the meeting in its favor

 ".

You know that for other participants, it went well, it was a moment of democracy

", defends the same interlocutor while adjusting his cap.
