According to TASS, the Ministry of Labor has prepared a draft order of target forecast indicators in the field of promoting employment in 2021.

The department noted that "the change in a number of indicators is due to the current situation in the labor market due to the pandemic and the need to implement measures to restore employment by the end of 2021 to the level of 2019."

Thus, the Ministry of Labor reported that "in particular, according to forecasts, the number of employed people by the end of the fourth quarter of next year corresponds to the indicator of 2019 - this is 71.9 million people."

The department explained that the calculation of indicators was carried out taking into account the actual results of 2019, the current situation, planned additional measures to promote employment of the population and a preliminary forecast of socio-economic parameters for the next year.

Earlier, Russian leader Vladimir Putin said at a meeting on economic issues that unemployment in Russia is still at a fairly high level.
