"At this stage, the very mechanism of vaccine delivery is being worked out so that the personnel of medical institutions can familiarize themselves with this process," the message says.

As noted, St. Petersburg was among the first Russian regions where the domestic vaccine is sent.

Within the framework of the "pilot delivery" it is planned to work out the supply chains, distribution and organization of vaccination of citizens belonging to the high-risk group.

“The first batch of the drug, which is able to develop immunity to coronavirus in a person for up to two years, was admitted to City Hospital No. 40,” the city administration said.

The hospital's specialists received instructions from the Gamaleya Center to observe the special conditions for storing and transporting the vaccine.

It is clarified that widespread vaccination against COVID-19 will begin as production increases and information from post-registration studies accumulates.

Earlier, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said that the first batches of COVID-19 vaccine were shipped to all regions of the country.
