It was just after 9 pm when the police received several calls about gunfire around Sörbäcksgatan.

When the patrols arrived at the scene, a gunshot wounded man was found.

- He is later taken care of by ambulance personnel on site, says Evelina Olsson, press spokesperson for the police.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment.

His exact injury situation is not known at this time.

Several arrested

The police state that witnesses have told that one or more suspects have disappeared on a moped in the direction of Bellevue and Lorensborg.

- There is also information that perpetrators have fled in a car, so we perform vehicle inspections, says Evelina Olsson.

Shortly after 11 pm, the police announced that they had arrested several people suspected of involvement in the incident.

The police have also made some findings.

The place where the shooting occurred has been cordoned off.
