A teenager was indicted and remanded in custody Monday evening for "murder on the ascendant", suspected of having strangled his father in Clichy (Hauts-de-Seine) during a violent family altercation.

The facts go back to Saturday, we learned from the Nanterre prosecutor's office.

At around 6 p.m., the 16-year-old man alerted the fire department.

Arrived at the family home, help found a 59-year-old man in cardio-respiratory arrest.

Despite their resuscitation efforts, he died in hospital that evening.

Traces of beatings and strangulation

The first findings show traces of beatings and strangulation, according to the prosecution, which suspects the son of being the author.

The other members of the family - the mother, separated from the father but still living with her ex-husband and her three children - as well as the brother and sister were absent from their home.

At the time of the tragedy, proceedings for domestic and intra-family violence were already targeting this family.
