IAEA Secretary General "Continued North Korean Nuclear Activities, Violation of Security Council Resolution…Very Regret"

The Secretary-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency IAEA said, "The continuation of North Korea's nuclear activities is a clear violation of the UN Security Council resolution."

In a speech at the opening of the IAEA's board of directors, Rafael Grossey said there have been signs over the past year that are consistent with the production of enriched uranium at a centrifuge enrichment facility in Yongbyon, North Korea.

"I urge North Korea to fully comply with its obligations under the Security Council resolution and to cooperate quickly with the IAEA in the full and effective implementation of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Safeguard Agreement."
