For several weeks,

the number of coronavirus cases in Europe has been on the rise, especially in Spain and France

.

Friday September 11, according to public data from the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 51,000 new cases were reported in the 55 countries of WHO Europe, more than the strongest peaks of April “

In October, in November, we will see a higher mortality

,” said Hans Kluge, director of the European branch of the WHO.

He also said that the development of a vaccine, still underway, would not end the pandemic.

In detail, Friday, the United Kingdom recorded its worst daily toll since mid-May: more than 3,500 new cases.

On Saturday September 12, France crossed the threshold of 10,000 newly infected, a record since the implementation of large-scale tests.

France, Italy and the Czech Republic are today the three member states of the European Union where the progression of the virus is the fastest.

From this Monday, September 14, a strict assembly restriction comes into effect in England.

It is in fact forbidden to meet with more than six people from different homes, with the exception of schools, workplaces, weddings or funerals.

In Austria, wearing a mask, already compulsory in supermarkets and transport, became so on Monday in all shops and all public buildings.

And in Italy, schoolchildren have returned to school with new measures: 5,000 new classrooms created to better implement social distancing, nearly 5,000 old ones enlarged and 170,000 liters of hydroalcoholic gel per week promised by the government to promote systematic hand washing.
