Mohammed bin Rashid approves new appointments in federal boards of directors

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, approved a package of new appointments in a number of federal boards of directors, in light of the efforts to develop the work system in the federal government and support the development process in various sectors in the country.

The new appointments come on the heels of the recent ministerial formation of the UAE government, with the aim of developing the work of the federal councils, and activating their role in achieving the strategic goals of the federal government and national priorities.

The appointment of the Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Dr. Abdullah bin Muhammad Belhaif Al Nuaimi, was approved as Chairman of the Emirates Council for Climate Change and Environment, to supervise the Council’s work in proposing the state’s general policy on climate change, the environment and green development, and laying the general foundations for plans and projects related to mitigating the repercussions of climate change. And to promote joint action in the field of the environment.

Al-Nuaimi will support the Council’s work in supervising the implementation of the UAE strategy for green development, representing the state in international and regional negotiations related to the Ministry’s competencies, in addition to harmonizing federal and local strategies, encouraging partnership projects with the private sector, and developing relevant scientific studies and research.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum approved the appointment of the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, as Chairman of the Industry Coordination Council, which aims to define strategic directions and priorities for the industrial sector in the country, and to develop policies, legislation, procedures and incentives related to the sector, in addition to proposing Initiatives and mechanisms that enhance the exchange of experiences and expertise between governmental and private sectors in the industrial affairs.

His Highness also approved the appointment of the Minister of Community Development, Hessa bint Issa Buhumaid, as Chairman of the Quality of Life Council, which includes more than 20 federal and local government agencies, and aims to enhance joint coordination between government agencies at the federal and local levels, and harmonize policies and programs to support the implementation of the National Quality Strategy Life, and strengthening partnership with the private sector in implementing initiatives that enhance and advance the quality of life, in addition to encouraging entities to adopt the comprehensive concept of quality of life in developing their services, initiatives and projects.

His Highness approved the appointment of the Minister of Community Development, Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, as vice president of the Digital Quality of Life Council, which was formed with the aim of coordinating policies, programs and legislation for the digital world, by developing policies and programs to enhance the quality of digital life for all segments of society, reviewing current legislation and laws, and evaluating The need to update it, develop initiatives and programs aimed at raising the quality of digital life, and provide advice and suggestions to the government in aspects related to the quality of digital life in the local and global digital world, and its implications and effects on the role of the government, in addition to communicating with external parties and international institutions concerned with the quality of digital life.
