Friday, on a departmental road in the Gers south of Auch, a 19-year-old driver fatally mowed down a 46-year-old father and his 16-year-old son who were riding a bicycle.

The 40-year-old died instantly, the teenager succumbing to his injuries.

The gendarmes are now trying to understand the circumstances of this tragedy which occurred on the RD943 towards Barran.

Why the young driver swerved to the left and collided with the two cyclists coming in the opposite direction.

Investigators from the Autonomous Territorial Brigade of Auch have therefore launched a search notice to try to find witnesses, and in particular "the driver of a dark-colored sedan-type vehicle having passed two cyclists between 6 pm and 6:15 pm" .
