The Minister of Defense of the Libyan Government of National Accord, Salah al-Din al-Nimroush, announced that Haftar's commitment to the ceasefire sponsored by the international community cannot be trusted, while the government of Abdullah al-Thani of the Tobruk Parliament announced its resignation amid popular protests against the deteriorating living conditions in the east of the country.

The Minister of Defense of the Government of National Accord affirmed that the commitment of retired Major General Khalifa Haftar to the ceasefire sponsored by the international community between the Accord Forces and Haftar's forces cannot be trusted.

Al-Nimroush confirmed that the Al-Wefaq Forces are ready to respond and repel any attack that Haftar's forces may launch. He said that Haftar’s forces have tried more than once to breach the truce by firing Grad missiles towards the positions of the Accord forces west of Sirte.

He questioned the ability of the Speaker of the House of Representatives meeting in Tobruk, Aqila Saleh, to impose orders on Haftar's forces, binding them to the ceasefire announced by his wife in recent days, justifying that Saleh does not have the ability to direct instructions to Haftar's forces on the battlefield, and that who can do that Only Haftar, whom Nimroush described as a rebel.

The resignation of the government of Al-Thinni

On the other hand, the "Libya Al-Hadath" channel, which broadcasts from Benghazi, announced that the Libyan government headed by Abdullah Al-Thinni is submitting its resignation to the Speaker of Parliament, Agila Saleh.

This government is not recognized internationally, and is loyal to the retired Major General Khalifa Haftar, and it is his executive interface that he relies on in his areas of influence in the east of the country.

The resignation came against the background of the demonstrations taking place in the eastern regions and cities, due to the decline in living, health and humanitarian conditions.
