The Ministry of Education has set 12 dates to hold the Emirates Standardized Exam “Injaz” sessions throughout the current academic year, which targets 12th-grade students and is performed by students in four subjects: Arabic, English, Mathematics and Physics.

"Injaz" is a condition for accepting students in public and private universities, military colleges and national service, and one of the conditions for accepting students applying for scholarships outside the country through government institutions. In addition, "INJAZ" is an alternative to the TOEFL and IELTS tests inside the country in a number of universities.

The student’s guide to applying the standard Emirates test during the “Covid-19” pandemic, which was recently approved by the ministry, indicated that the dates for the exam sessions are divided into one date next October (24 days), and two dates each next November (on the seventh and 21 days). January 2021 (days 16 and 30), February 2021 (days 13 and 27), March 2021 (days 13 and 27), one date in May 2021 (days 29), and two dates in June 2021 (days five and 12).

The guide stated that the Emirates standard test is mandatory for six categories: Emiratis and non-Emiratis studying in government continuing education centers, Emiratis studying in all public and private schools with ministerial curricula and private international curricula, Emiratis applying for scholarships outside the country, and non-citizens studying in government schools. And private schools that apply the ministerial curriculum, and students of the 12th grade, and non-Emiratis who wish to complete their studies in one of the public and private universities in the country, and national service students and applicants to military colleges.

The guide explained that the Emirates standard test does not have a failure score, but rather it is a measure of skills and knowledge, and the student can take the tests in the four subjects on different days and not necessarily on the same day, and the student is registered through an ID reader in all schools in the country, through the coordinators accredited in the schools The exams are held in accredited centers designated for the Emirates Standard Test, distributed nationwide, and the student is obligated to register to take the test in one of the centers in the emirate in which he lives, and in the event that a seat is not available for him in the session, he must wait until the next session.

“Injaz” is one of the types of the Emirates Standardized Test (EMSAT), after the Ministry of Education updated it to include three types: “Basic”, “Sequential” and “Achievement”, to include general education stages, with the aim of ensuring better implementation International educational standards for student service in the country.

The ministry stated, on its website, that a "basic" test is applied to first-grade students upon joining the general education stage, to measure basic skills in literacy in Arabic and English and pre-school arithmetic, and to prepare supportive plans for their educational path. As for a "sequential" test, it is applied. Students of fourth, sixth, eighth and tenth grades, to measure their skills in Arabic, English, mathematics and science, and provide their schools with reports that support students and the development of the educational system. The “Injaz” test is the first university admission standard for public and private universities in the country, and is applied to 12th grade students, students of foreign scholarships and students. The Ministry affirmed that the EMSAT exams aim to ensure that students obtain the knowledge, science and skills necessary for effective participation in the knowledge-based economic community.

The Ministry of Education is working through the “EmSat” test to collect accurate data on the knowledge and skills of students in the UAE, in academic subjects and across different educational stages, in light of national standards, in addition to evaluating the general education system and linking the performance evaluation of public education institutions and their workers ( School principals and teachers), to perform students' performance and take the necessary decisions to improve and develop the education system, and to help students determine appropriate educational paths for them. The test is also used in decisions related to university admission to higher education institutions within the country, and to determine the level of students ’performance nationally and globally.

Mandatory for 6 classes

The Emirates Standard Test is mandatory for six categories:

■ Students studying in government continuing education centers.

■ Students studying in public and private schools.

■ Applicants for scholarships outside the country.

■ Non-citizens in public and private schools that implement the ministerial curriculum.

■ Students of the 12th grade who wish to complete their university studies.

■ National service students and applicants to military colleges.
