Sharjah Police General Command seized, in a specific operation called (7/7 Fist), an international network of 58 people that sought to promote 153 kilograms of drugs, with a market value of 63 million dirhams.

Sharjah Police Commander-in-Chief, Major General Saif Al-Zari Al Shamsi, said during a press conference yesterday that the police personnel dealt professionally with the process of controlling the criminal network whose members deliberately exploited the pandemic conditions (Covid-19) to introduce toxins into the state and promote them, but the anti-drug agencies Sharjah Police prevented the completion of the scheme, and managed to seize 153 kilograms of drugs, and seized all parties to the network of 58 people.

He added that the Drug Enforcement Administration has made great efforts, during the past months, in monitoring, following up and monitoring the network, which enabled it to fully inform its members and entrap them one by one.

For his part, the Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department of Sharjah Police, Lt. Col. Majed Al-Asam, explained the details of the operation, which began with information monitored by the competent drug administration agencies indicating the existence of a gang formation linked to an international fabric based in an Asian country for smuggling, storing, trafficking and promoting narcotic substances.

He added that a team was formed to monitor, monitor and analyze data, and set up an elaborate plan to entrap the gang members, after its strings were exposed in front of the members of the combat team, as the marine means used by members of the criminal network in one of the country's ports were monitored, taking advantage of the license granted to it to import foodstuffs. These toxins, and the search and investigation work continued until a residential villa in one of the Emirates was detected, and the head of the gang exploited it in the process of extracting crystal drug and converting it from a liquid to its crystalline appearance after adding chemicals to it.

He continued that as a result of the investigation, close monitoring, and the work of the control personnel around the clock, the zero hour was set, and the members of the formation consisting of 58 people were arrested one after the other, by setting up several court ambushes, and by harnessing the modern devices and technologies available at the Sharjah Police, which they use in Monitoring, follow-up and detection of narcotic substances of all kinds.

He pointed out that the operation resulted in the seizure of more than 153 kilograms of drugs, which included crystal drugs, heroin, hashish and 69 liters of liquid crystal anesthetic, and the market value was estimated at 63 million dirhams.
