Japan's Secretary of State Yoshihide Suga, who is influential in ‘Post Abbe’, has announced that, based on the U.S.-Japan alliance, he will establish reliably with neighboring countries in Asia such as Korea and China.

Secretary Suga said this to a question about Japan's foreign and security policy at the Liberal Democratic Party's Candidate Debate held at the Japan Journalists Club in Tokyo on the afternoon of the 12th.

He said, "It is important to establish a certain relationship between Japan and Asian countries based on the alliance between Japan and the United States."

In an interview with the Yomiuri Shimbun on the 7th, he said, "We will thoroughly respond to violations of international law in relations between Korea and Japan." In an interview with the Sankei Shimbun on the 6th, he emphasized that "the Japan-Korea Claims Agreement is the basis of Japan-Japan relations."

This seems to be an expression of the will to continue the Abe regime's position on the lawsuit for compensation for forced mobilization.

It was broadcast live through NHK for about 2 hours and 10 minutes from 1 p.m., and the Liberal Democratic Party's Chairman Fumio Kishida and former secretary chief Shigeru Ishiba participated in the debate.

When asked about women's policy, former secretary Ishiba pointed out that all four reporters from the debate's representative questioning were men, and commented that Japan would be difficult to develop if women were not active.

When asked about the reason why he had a low approval rating in public opinion polls, Chairman Kishida Jeongjo said, “I was too entangled in the position of the Foreign Minister or Chairman Jeongjo.” With this run for governor of the Liberal Democratic Party, he tried to increase his'outgoing power' I said with the intention of doing it.

In the LDP governor's election, which is held on the 14th, the election of Suga, supported by major factions in the party, is influential. The new LDP governor will be nominated as the new prime minister by the Japanese House of Representatives on the 16th.
