Since January, they have been working on research projects focusing on teachers' digital competence and developing forms of practical research.

But when the pandemic then came, the research took on a completely different focus and significance, says Linnéa Stenliden, who is an associate professor of pedagogical work at Linköping University.

- In March, the pandemic hit us all and it was a big turnaround for the school.

The high school had to close down completely and the high schools would be prepared to convert their teaching to distance education and with that, it felt extremely important to immerse ourselves in what happened, she says.

Teachers from upper secondary and upper secondary schools in Linköping and Motala municipality have participated in the study and they have told about how they experienced distance education during the spring.
