The tag "Bahrainis against normalization" topped the social networking site Twitter on Friday evening, in response to Manama's announcement that an agreement had been reached to establish full diplomatic relations with Tel Aviv under the auspices of Washington.

And through the tag, Majid Milad, a member of the General Secretariat of the Bahraini opposition Al-Wefaq Society, Majed, wrote that it is a delusion that the Bahraini people enter the tunnel of normalization, as the Egyptian people until the moment have their heads raised against normalization, as he put it.

Milad stressed that Israel is a usurper entity, no matter how much it tries to conclude deals under a false title.

Al-Wefaq is the largest opposition movement in Bahrain, but the authorities dissolved it in 2018.

The human rights activist Maryam Al-Khawaja published a series of tweets in English and Arabic, through the same tag, in one of which she said, "The people of Bahrain do not enjoy freedom, and they do not have a say in what the regime does or decides, locally or internationally."

She continued, "The struggle for justice and freedom continues," and published the phrase "Here Palestine" and attached a picture of the Palestinian flag.

As for Jawad Fayrouz, former deputy and head of the Salam Organization for Democracy and Human Rights, he said that the largest and most horrific crime committed by the ruling authority in Bahrain in its history against the people and the homeland and the Arab and Islamic nations and human values is normalization with the Zionist entity.

For his part, Ali Al-Aswad, a former representative of Al-Wefaq, considered, in a series of tweets, that the announcement of the normalization of Manama was a black day in Bahrain's political history.

He said, "No welcome or easy to the occupier, Bahrainis are against normalization and we support our people in Palestine heart and soul, and we affirm the right of the Palestinian people to freedom, and their demand to liberate their lands from the Israeli occupation, in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions and the international system."

The human rights and social activist Ibtisam Al-Saegh also wrote that as a Bahraini citizen, she declares her innocence of the normalization agreement with the Zionist entity, "and I consider it a stab in the heart of the Bahraini people and a betrayal of the nation's sacrifices."

The writer and poet Jaafar al-Jamri said that passing the normalization agreement in the (Bahraini) House of Representatives will not take even 5 seconds.

On Friday, US President Donald Trump announced Bahrain's joining the UAE in normalization with Israel.

The official Bahrain News Agency quoted her country's foreign ministry as saying that Trump and King Hamad bin Isa agreed during a phone call to establish full diplomatic relations between Tel Aviv and Manama.

The Bahraini normalization came about a month after the UAE announced a similar agreement.

The Palestinian factions condemned the Israeli-Bahraini agreement, and considered it insistence on implementing Trump's plan, known as the "deal of the century," and others argued that the Arab League's stance not to condemn normalization, and its failure to pass a Palestinian draft resolution on that, opened the appetite of some Arab countries for this matter.

After Trump's announcement, Bahrain will be the fourth Arab country to sign or agree to sign a normalization agreement with Israel, after Egypt, Jordan and the UAE.
