Last year's season was interrupted in the final stages and for the first time in 13 seasons, no team was named Swedish champion.

But HV71 won the basic series, 18 points ahead of second place Luleå.

"The winner's skull is incredibly big"

When the series now starts, it is precisely Luleå they meet in the first match at home on Saturday.

- The winning skull is incredibly big this season, says Linnéa Andersson, back in HV71.

The future 22-year-old is making his eighth season at the club and is one of those who played the most matches in the HV shirt.

- I do not know exactly but it is over 200 in any case, she laughs when she shows one of the gold pins she received for her achievement.

Three have left

Linnéa Andersson came to Jönköping as a 16-year-old to attend hockey high school.

She says that she is very happy in the club and that the cohesion of the team is one of the contributing factors.

Only three players have left HV71 Dam this season and the only new one in the team is Ronja Mogren from Modo.

Last season, the team took 99 points out of 108 possible.

They scored 170 goals, which is the most in history and Peter Ekelund, general manager of the club, is hopeful for the season.

- I am very happy that so many have chosen to stay and I think it is a really revenge-hungry gang that is ready to take on the task, he says.
