China News Service, Toronto, September 12-The Royal Canadian Mounted Police filed charges against a former member of the House of Representatives on September 11 on charges of dishonesty and fraud.

  Rajvinder Singh Grewal (Rajvinder Singh Grewal) was accused of failing to report to the Commissioner of Ethics of Congress that he had collected millions of dollars in personal loans during his tenure as a member of the House of Representatives. Loan, and manage government-funded constituency office budgets for private gain, thereby suspecting criminal fraud or breach of trust.

  After receiving the suspicious transactions disclosed by the Canadian Financial Transaction and Reporting Analysis Center, the RCMP began investigating them in September 2017.

  Gruval, who was a member of the Liberal Party Congress, announced his resignation in November 2018 for "personal and health reasons".

But the prime minister's office subsequently confirmed to the media that he was seeking treatment for gambling addiction and was carrying a large amount of personal debt.

  Before stepping into politics, he was a lawyer.

  Gruval, 35, will appear in court in Ottawa on October 6.
